Friday 8th March - What small DFW things will you do today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:
Morning!!!! TGIF!!! :j:j
Finished college slightly earlier last night so was home by 10:15.. Went straight to bed though was so tired! Dreading next week when I have to go 3 nights!!
perni - I got my mum (without sounding bad!!) "toot from next" she likes all these hearts and random ornaments to have around the home! I'm going to pop to lidl tomorrow to see if they have any £2 flowers left!!
Been spending again yesterday, I bought fizzy drink and choc before college. Didn't need it! Need to stop doing this!!
List for today:

Go into the bank, and pay off my bank loan.
I got a tingle of excitement, every time I type about that.
I hope I don't feel a huge anti-climax, once it's been done.0 -

Another busy day trying to catch up with this weeks work so I best stop watching tv and make a start.0 -
Hey everyone
Gosh I’ve been busy! Work is crazy so so is the rest of life. Absolutely unbelievable that I am the only person in the UK doing my job – not really sure how they think I can do it all – but they did ask me the other day how many people I need on my team so maybe they are starting to realise!!! Got a million things to do before year end but I am off the first week of April so really I’ve only got 3 weeks instead of 4. Oh the joys.
Hope all is good with you lot.
Ziggy - feel better soon. This miserable weather is perfect for staying wrapped up warm at home.
DNMS – good luck with the job hunting. I know how time consuming it can all be.
Been keeping up with the small things:Mystery shopping and requested 2 more
Marking 2 papers - £5 per paper
Bit of voluntary work for ombudsman – got someone £300 compensation that they said they didn’t want – sillybilly methinks as doubt they will get any more if they push for it/probs end up with nowt…
Brought lunches all days and got free lunch buffet once
Food from stores – some weird and wonderful combinations
Won £30.50 in lotto bingo at work :T
Using winnings to go out with school friends on Sat night
Visiting parents this weekend
And visiting auntie at her new house – she’s just left a controlling bully of a husband to move into her own flat – so v proud and happy for her :T :j :T
Better go everyone – have a million updates to do and just about 100k pension members and HMRC waiting for me to fix their records – no pressure :eek:0 -

morning all,
Well woke up feeling quite down about my money situation today. Realised that I really need to sort it out now and start earning some more money. I ended up emptying out my penny jar to cover the mortgage today, and now need to find the extra pennies to go to friends birthday thing tomorrow. Its not going to cost much as I am doing the driving and I feel that as I haven't had a real night out in months feel like I need it in some ways. On a good note got a cleaning job to do next weekend.
Today I will:
- Empty penny and 5p jar and cash up
- Do my work
- Pay Mortgage
- Do another invoice so I can get some more money in
- Do a load of washing and get dried
- Get DM mothers day present, will use Mr S points as she liked a couple of bits in there, and she coming for breakfast. Thought do scrambled eggs and smoked salmon bagles - worked out cheaper than a full english, and I will use the left over eggs and salmon for other meals.
- Do my swagbucks and order my voucher towards friends birthday present.
- Do one poll and any surveys
- Take some pictures of my craft makes to email to organiser of a pamper evening I have been invited to do. Have my first stall at end of month
Hope everyone has a lovely dayAPR NSD - 0/10
Paid off in 2013 so far £125.00
April Money made - £18.000 -
Hey everyone, hope you are all having a good day!
I am now strictly speaking debt-free, but hope it is ok to still keep up on this thread as am finding it very useful to stay focussed.
Having sold my extravagant car and bought a smaller/cheaper one I have used the difference to put a bit of money in savings and also make an overpayment on the mortage. Since cutting down drinking recently (with the help of another forum on here) I also hope to be able to make some amsll overpayments each month....
Anyway.... on to the main topic!!
Today :
- quick shower this morning using shower timey thingy
- breakfast at home (tea, porridge with apple, dollop of yoghurt and drizzle of honey)
- lunch from home - cheese and pickle sarnie on home made granary bread, with cherry tomatoes, a yoghurt, apple and banana and little cake bar
- meal from meal plan tonight (snapped up the frozen clams in l1dl earlier in the week - so making my fave tonight - spaghetti vongole)
- an alcohol free day today - yay! (although will have some "planned for" wine with dinner tomorrow)
- doing some mealplanning for next week
- drinking free tea/coffee/hot chocolate and water at work
- checked banks/cards and my spreadsheets and all looks on track
- will make a cake tonight (with all the "extra time" i have from not drinking every night!) to have as afternoon snacks over weekend and next week at work
- checked money in grocery jar this morning and it's looking ok - I put two weeks' worth in there last Friday and we are at the end of first week with a bit more than half left in the jar
- moved my mortgage payment date from 25th of month to 1st of month so that it is same as most of my other DDs so I feel a bit more in control about what's left to juggle with...
Have a great weekend everyone.
xxSick and tired of waking up sick and tired...
Debt-free, now focussing on being mortgage-free
