Hi all
Are there any people available who can provide legal information and help with IB transfer to ESA. I'm sorry I'm not able to pay for legal advice. Any advice would be helpful. I can't sleep because I'm worried about what will happen to me over the next few months. I suffer with a long standing illness and have worked whenever possible. My partner works part-time for a small amount of unreliable income but has a pension, he is nearly 64.
We have never claimed Income Support or Council Tax Benefit or anything else.
Thanks

There are several very knowlegeable people on the forum who regularly give valuable help and advice about the IB transfer process.
But imagine they would need more info. eg What stage are you at in the process? And what info or advice are you looking for?0 -

This might be useful: http://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/employment-and-support-allowance/start-the-esa-test?utm_source=iContact&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Benefits%20and%20Work&utm_content=27+Feb+2013
Fill that in as accurately as you can and it will give you a better idea of whether you should get ESA or not.
http://www.direct.gov.uk/prod_consum_dg/groups/dg_digitalassets/%40dg/%40en/%40disabled/documents/digitalasset/dg_177366.pdf This is a new leaflet mainly meant for the professionals but can also be read by claimants and will also give you some idea of what is involved.
ESA is not just about having an illness that makes you incapacitated for work. It is about you fitting various descriptors at 2 different levels - the 1st being those for WRAG and 2nd for the Support group.
Read those and see what questions then spring to mind.0
