Hmmm... The W98 lappy is 7 years old and I had Sygate on it.. maybe I left that on it, sorry. I hardly ever use it because it's so out of date, but I remember installing AVG, spybot and ad-aware too.
I might have got it wrong, sorry. I'll go and check now.
LATER: Ok, the Hewlett Packard and the Toshiba (both XP) have AVG and Kerio, the Packard Bell (W98), has only AVG! I remember now uninstalling Sygate but it looks like I never installed Kerio.
I think you are correct - my apologies.
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -

Thats ok Quasar - at least you took the trouble to look - Thanks for that!
guess I'll have to put up with Sygate until I can afford a new OP - its not a big deal - just it doesnt feel that secure with it keep changing its setttings lolI THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I KnowSupermarket Rebel No 19:T0 -
I'd go for Kerio. It's worth having a software firewall if you can run one:

Which version of Sygate are you using? I'm using version 5.5 build 2710 with 98SE with no problems (touch wood!). It may be worth trying an older or newer version (you can get them from www.oldversion.com as mentioned earlier).Charlie0

Version5.6 build 2808 - no real problems but as I said before the way it will reset it self or just decide not to start at start-up makes me feel insecure that it is truly protecting me - it seems to be affected by malware & things which I thought it was supposed to protect me fromI THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I KnowSupermarket Rebel No 19:T0 -
