Gas Bill for old tenancy -PLEASE HELP!

So I lived in a house with my ex partner over a year ago, today I'm informed that I have been receiving bills at a relatives for that old house and is now close to £1000 I haven't even been in the same city to know anything about this

I have emailed the land lord and informed him but have not informed the energey company yet as I want to know where I stand first

I moved out under the impression my ex had informed the energy company it would seem that hasn't been done, but like I said I've not been there for over a year...what do I do????

Where you currently stand is that you are indebted by close to £1000.
I suggest you contact the supplier.

Expect to need to provide proof of when you moved out and where you are living now so they know you are telling the truth.

No being rude but who in the right mind would trust an ex to advise a third party you are no longer liable for their bills. :wall:

Glad you got things sorted, however when you're kicking off please be aware that you're speaking to a human at the other end of phone, so be polite!

What the other poster meant was that there was a person at the end of that phone who was not reponsible for the situation you found yourself in, even if the company could have done better.

The person who deserved such anger was your ex for not informing the company and in deed yourself for leaving it up to him to do it.

Well that wasn't the case I have no found out my ex did infant notify them and they just didnt do what they was suppost to do, but when people come on here for advise they don't need people telling them how to speak to people, it's very patronising
