Percentage Budget?

Hi all,
I looked at my bank accounts for the first time in months (gasps!) and realise i hugely overspend. I am now an unemployed lone parent so it needs to stop! According to my initial calculations using the CAP Money system I have £400 pcm 'left over' after the rent and basic direct debit bills are paid (gas. electricity, insurance, phone; etc.)
What amount/ percentage can I spend on what? How much on food/ school extras (uniform, shoes etc for 2 boys), days out; etc? My youngest (7) is gluten intolerant but the diagnosis for coeliac is LONG so we can't get his stuff on prescription yet. I don't allow much rubbish, but his bread is £2.50 a small loaf!! He is allowed 2 'special' biscuits on a Sunday after church :-)
Basically, I'm a rubbish cook but don't like ready meals wither so we have a lot of sausages/ rice and dahl/ meatballs and instant yorkshire puds type meals. What should my food budget be? Help!! Very confused.
Thanks so much!! :A
