Just so you know this monitor is now discountinued, as they are very old Nov 2003! It is a fairly good monitor, ok for average usage, not worth more than £150, no where near £300! It came up as £99.00 when scanned, however the ticket price was £300 ish.
Hope this helps someone!
Thanks for that.
I presume you have not found a six digit product code that starts with a 3 then ?
Which store did you find this in ? Reading like royalsteve ?There are 10 types of people in the world. ‹(•¿•)›(11)A104.28S94.98O112.46N86.73D101.02(12)J130.63F126.76M134.38A200.98M156.30J95.56J102.85A175.93

only code that starts with a 3 is a reference no of more than 6 digits

well worth 80.00...not worth 300.00+ like any monitor as far as i am concerned.
sorry yes digital is theorectically better for generally, not just for games......due to the fact that your computer and tft are digital devices and transmitting images using an analogue signal isnt efficient.....in practice though alot of people wouldnt notice much difference.

Staples at the Wheatley Hall retail park in Doncaster have 2 left (was 3, but I've got 1).
£99.99 inc vat. You need a business cheque book etc to open a business account, so I can only get at 'full' price.
Found it in other shops at £350, but it is listed on the HP site as discontinued.
Specs can be found here and here.

I presume you should be able to find this on your receipt or on the outer packaging.
I understand from Staples that this is a 6 digit number that probably starts with 3
Cheers
Quoia,
The SKU is 372228.
Staples staff !
Looked in my local Staples and they had a display model with a £378 ticket, but behind that was a £99 ticket, so they obviously knew about the reduction.
I asked the manager if they had any in stock and their computer said they had two. He disputed the price at first, saying the offer had ended. I insisted on him checking, he then offered me the display model. I stated I would rather have a boxed one, so he finally went to look for the "other" after first "consulting collegues", only to return saying the other must have been sold! So I said I would have the display model at a 10% discount, only to be told 20 mins later that they couldnt find any of the leads, speakers or power supply, and therefore they could not sell it. I said I would take it as it was if further reduced, they flatly refused! Hmmmmm.
IT is an older 2003 model, 25ms refresh, VGA analogue only ( 1024 x 786 ?) and should have two Hardmon Kardon? speakers that clip on sides.

royalsteve wrote:Went to Staples @ Reading tonight and noticed they had this 17 inch tft for £99.99...opened a business account to get an extra 20% off......so approx £79.99.... i think the 20% account deal ended tonight but you should still be able to get 10% off if you open an account.....if you can find any tft's.......worth checking though as it isnt advertised and even the staff had to double check!!!
A couple of points having called "in store" today.
( I potentially have one - awaiting a missing mains cable (special fitting) being ordered and delivered )
Firstly, it appears getting this for £79.99 was a FLUKE.
The business account discount (20% or otherwise) has certain terms and conditions.
One of which is that it DOES NOT APPLY to PCs, laptops, TFT monitors, digital cameras and a few other items.
Staples make almost nothing on selling these products and almost all of their profit is derived from sales of stationery and office supplies.
Secondly I have been assured that ALL these F1703s are EX DISPLAY models.
If it has been "in use" for 8 hours a day, every day for a year or 2, then it may have seen 5,000 to 6000 hours of wear and tear.
If displays are not turned off overnight, then the numbers rise by a factor of 3 ! Not sure what these are designed to do - anyone ?
royalsteve and barginsgalore ?
Did you get a 3 year warranty on yours ?
It's just that the replacement F1723 model at £189 comes with it.There are 10 types of people in the world. ‹(•¿•)›(11)A104.28S94.98O112.46N86.73D101.02(12)J130.63F126.76M134.38A200.98M156.30J95.56J102.85A175.93
