Google nexus 7 doesn't work?

Bought a nexus 7 couple months ago & used it a little for couple weeks.

I had a couple projects so its been kept in a case in a draw for 6 weeks with half charge.

Tried turning it on & it wouldn't turn on

Plugged the charger in and there's sort of a backlight that comes on, nothing else

Pretty !!!!ed off right now

Am I doing something wrong ?

maybe the battery is completely flat, just leave it plugged in for a couple of hours and then try to switch it on again - my phone used to do something similar

The battery sign has come up so appears to be charging.

How can a battery go flat if its been turned off with half charge remaining (if this is actually what has happened)

You probably did not turn it off, if you just press and release the power button it goes into standby and continues to use power. Press and hold the power button brings up various power options.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

If it is still not working/charging you may want to look at this:

It seems as if there may be a bug with charging after letting the battery go completely flat.
Use Google to see if there are more references to it.
