bloody car insurance

I have just got some quotes for car Insurance for my Daughter, and the Insurance companies have made me seething with rage.
At the end of the quote - when you start to read what they have and have not covered you for - They insist and I mean INSIST, that she has 1. Private Insurance (health) included, and 2. Hire car included.
I simply stated that I did not want these (but of course - legal protection which everyone should have is an extra £29.50p.
I complained to the FSA (another toothless wonder) and they of course cannot do anything about it.
Money must be included in the Insurance premium in order to include for health Insurance and car hire - AND THE INSURANCE COMPANIES ARE FORCING US TO HAVE THESE INSURANCE EXTRAS.
SO - could this lead to a similar situation such as the mis-sold PPI policies?
If the insurance companies are forcing us to have these extras in order to boost their coffers then wouldnt it be possible for us, the consumers to take them to court for mis-selling policies?

As far as im aware your not forced to have a hire car or Private health Insurance or im not asked if I have those and never have been. Who is the insurer in this instance ?0

Hi, which insurance company are you talking about.
I always buy online and you can just add/delete whatever you want. The one time I had to ring there was no pressure to add anything.
I never bother with legal/courtesy car/hire car/breakdown/keycare etc. and have never heard of health even being an option.
Are you sure you or your daughter have not misunderstood what was said??0 -
If insurance company X provides more cover with their policies than you want, decline their offers and go elsewhere0

I dont have any of those extra's and never have.
I dont expect a reply, BUT..
What company insists on you having all these extra's ??Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I have never seen a single quote where personal health insurance is even an option let alone mandatory. Hire cars are usually optional but so what if they're included in the premium, I suppose you want them to take out window cover and the 24 hour helpline, and the cost of prepaid envelopes?0

Nice use of bold+underline followed up by some capital letters. Superb.0
