    Hi everyone,

Well I'm home from a fantastic holiday and back with my 5 a day challenge.

I also decided that I would do 5 things whilst on holiday so as to keep the challenge going so whilst I was away I did:-

    1. Bought BOGOF items from supermarket (meaning I had enough food for all of holiday for half the price)
    2. Had breakfast almost everyday at villa (using bogof cereals etc)
    3. Packed up rolls to the parks each day for lunch (rather than buying expensive snacks at Disney)
    4. Used money off vouchers found instore when buying some crafting goodies
    5. Resisted buying £50 perfume from duty free on way home

    and for today:-

    1. Wahoo Bingo (54 stars won)
    2. Swagbucks (63 bucks of 90 target)
    3. Hung washing outside rather than using tumble dryer
    4. Used Tesco coupons when food shopping (saving £2.50 - plus used double points voucher to earn more points)
    5. Sent away for free tomato seeds from facebook (which will hopefully be grown and used for pasta sauces)
    Mortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.02

    2. Wahoo Bingo - 61 stars won

    3. Returned clothes which did'nt wear on holiday (I lieft teh tags on just in case) so got £101 credited back to card - and transferred instantly to savings account

    4. Used 85p coupon in Tesco

    5. Joined Nectar Adpoints and got a 250 points bonus (£1.25) and also earned 125 points (62p)
    Mortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.02
  • Welcome back! Sounds like a great but MSE holiday :j.

I've fallen off the wagon while you have been away. Not been spending but not been focusing on the saving etc. I've changed one of my contracts so hopefully will have more time for life and also more time for my 5 a day to earn vouchers etc :T.
One small step for ME, one giant leap for my family!

2015 - my Amazon Gift Certificate mini challenge - saving to buy small household electrical items.
    Total £9.12
  • HI crafting mad, your diary is very inspiring, I've stopped doing mine a while ago but think I might start again.
How did you go about getting your buy to let properties? Did you have to save up a big deposit for each? Also did you just approach the bank and have a normal mortgage but using the equity on your own house? We really want to do this as I dont have a pension and DH's is not good but not sure how to go about it all.
Also you seem to have a lot in savings, do you keep that separate or transfer it as a lump sum mortgage pmt?
Thanks and keep up with the diary, its great :)
