Just about to pay off my overdraft to Halifax and close down the entire account, its an Ultimate Reward Current Account, how does it work with the monthly fee if I shut it down halfway through the month does anyone know?

To be honest I'm not sure anyone on here can give you a definitive answer on this.
As you have already paid this months fee you maybe able to claim half of it back as you will not be using the benefits of your URCA anymore.
They probably won't do it automatically as they will probably not think about it. So you will have to give them a nudge and get it back from them. Which will either be paid into your URCA which will re-open the account even if you have closed it, or you could ask if they will pay it back to you via cheque.
The best way to find out would be to give them a call.Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -
I just paid the monthly fee from 02/02/13-01/03/13 so It think I will just get charged up until I close the account maybe £5-6, I'll mention to them in branch anyway just thought I would see if anyone had done something similar.

the urca fee payment taken on first march, is actually for Feb.0 -
Went down in branch they said it will be calculated up to the date of the account close so if I close it on March 15th it will be calculated up until then. Just for anyone who is interested."All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered, the point is to discover them."
