I Never Win Anything

I alway enter competitions either online or in magazines and i have never ever ever won anything in my life!! What am i doing wrong??

Any pointers?

Dee, likewise I've been doing comps for years and have only won once- £50 argos vouchers about 2 years ago. My wife who never normaly bothers with comps filled in a form at a local Halifax and won tickets to a show in London with travel and overnight accomodation. It's very much the luck of the draw but as they say "You've got to be in it to win it". Don't give up, i'm sure your turn will come.

I usually win when i have given up on winning anything lol. i spend a few months entering competitions every day, and as soon as i get annoyed and give up, i find i have won something.

How many do u reckon u enter a month? and for how long have u been doing it?

I know exactly how you feel Dee. I am starting to feel a bit heavy hearted myself.

It's now 3 months on of entering about 30 competitions every single day ... and nothing.

Still I am soldiering on - I am sending some good vibes your way - let's hope we strike lucky too one of these days.

try entering more comps that are close to their end date, then at least you don't have to wait too long. I hadnt won anything in ages but got a book in the post the other day from radom house's monthy giveaway, and a Josh Pyke Tshirt & bag from a little music website.

Also depends what you are entering for big prizes cars, holdays etc will always have more people entering them than the smaller ones for a couple of cds or dvds. Also try other places for comps...no hate mail please as most compers on here are entered by loads of people, as you can tell sortof by the amount of thanks they have recieved.

You could also focus more on what exactly you want to win, as there are currently quite a lot of comps for a particular DVD (as they've been reviewed/released) or boxset, or movie stuff like all the Spiderman comps, so if theres something in particular you want try searching for Spiderman competitions or prizes and it might bring up more that other Mse'ers have missed....though it would be nice if you told us :)hehe

You could always try entering local ones in your newspapers, as they tend to have fewer people entering, or postal ones, though don't spend too much on stamps (otherwise its not moneysaving!).

I've won an assortment over the years, some are incidental and some i think wow! I was lucky to win that, but like Womble says don't give up hope, you never know what you might win!

The amount of people doing comps has gone up alarmingly in the last 6 months or so. This is why wins have gone down.

Don’t despair, remember though that a lot of the comps we enter finish month’s away. The ones Ive entered over the past few days all end mid – late 2007 and by the time that comes round I will have probably gave up!
Just enter a few comps every time you logon to the www (every now & then) and you never know.

I won a years supply of Krogenburg Lager a while back which was completely out the blue!

I know what you mean! I feel very despondent sometimes. A couple of years I went through a winning streak & won a lot of things - but haven't had any wins for ages - but I don't give up in case I do end up winning something. I only enter for competitions that I want the prize though - I don't want to waste my luck on something that I won't be happy winning. Keep persevering & I hope that your luck will change soon!
