Hi, we have just had confirmation that our application for buying a house has been accepted. I have had a look at energy websites for quotationa but they all want to know current supplier and previous usage etc which I don't know! is there a simple way of doing this? what should I be paying? its a 2 bedroom terraced house.
Thanks

Can you tell us some more about your application to buy a house please?
Where does one begin? And how did you receive confirmation that your application has been succesful?
I don't think I've ever submitted any application to buy a house before ... and I've bought a few
Is this something new? What exactly is involved?
I've had some nonsense about this from an estate agent before, but he just wanted to flog me a mortgage. I simply told him from the start that I would be arranging my own finance, and so the meeting lasted less than 30 seconds.0 -

You can use any current tariff you like, it doesn't matter-the purpose of a comp site search is to get the comparative data. Just use UK averages of 3,400kWh electricity and 16,500kWh gas (assuming a property with gas CH and DHW).
However, you can't switch until you submit meter readings and register for an account with the existing suppliers, with whom you will be in a deemed account from day one. A switch will then take 4-5 weeks. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
