I ran an update of CCleaner, and because I haven't done this for a while, I wasn't concentrating enough, and forgot to de-select the option to install the Yahoo toolbar
I really do not want this cruddy junkware on this PC, especially as I had absolutely loads of trouble with Onspeed trying to install it before, and it completely froze the PC up for 15 minutes at a time.
I'll probably soon remember what Onspeed told me to do to disable it, but just in case anyone here has any suggestions, I'd be grateful to hear them

I seem to recall you just need to uninstall it in the usual way, in 'Control Panel > Add or Remove programs'Stompa0

How do I uninstall Yahoo! Toolbar?
Click the
button on the toolbar. Choose the "Uninstall" option. When asked if you really want to uninstall Yahoo! Toolbar, click "Yes." From http://uk.toolbar.yahoo.com/ 0 -
Ok thanks
First I went to Tools > Internet Options > Manage add-ons > and disabled it
Then uninstalled, using Add/Remove programs as suggested. Nothing happened at all, except that it disappeared off the list
Restart, and it no longer appears in either of those places, so a lot less drama than I was afraid of.
The disabled Onspeed plug-in that is part of it is still there in the list of disabled add-ons, and if you'de seen the effect this had at first until sorted, you'd have understood the reason for my panic, as closing and opening IE just once took about half an hour, during which time I had up to 6 copies of the Task Manager spontaneously srating and stopping as I tried to close it all down.
Panic over, and thanks again0
