UK Health Spa Hotel Breaks

Hi all,

Does anyone know any decent websites for finding good value Health Spa Hotel breaks in the uk?

Has anyone actually used them and been to a health spa hotel? if so what were your experiences like?

Cheers

None of them are really cheap, although some are better value than others. I would totally recommend NEVER using champneys - you are on a conveyer belt, you do not come out feeling special or pampered and you have to fight for a sunlounger by the pool.

My best experience in this country was at Ragdale Hall. If you can go midweek I suggest using a code from Vouchercodes dot com and buying a reduced voucher from Buyagift dot co uk. This way you get a reduced rate for Ragdale.

I have also used Whittlebury Hall in Northamptonshire and this is lovely, though not really set up as a day spa as you have to walk down draughty stairs to get to the pool which is really the hotel swimming pool. Great treatments though.

I have recently purchased a spa break at a 5 star hotel in Torquay (I hour treatment included).

I haven't been yet so I can't tell you what it is like, but the sellers feedback is 100% and the price is about 40% off an already discounted package.

I have looked around and this looks very good value (although if you want more treatments then you'll obviously have to pay for more).

I have checked out the reviews on trip advisor for the hotel and they are quite mixed to be honest (some people saying it's fantastic others dissapointed).
Personally I take the attitude that if you're getting 40% off then you are likely to in the fantastic category and some of the negative reviews came from people who weren't being reasonable (had to queue a whole 2 minutes at breakfast !!!).

I have no connection but I've shopped around and for a hotel, meal and spa package I thought this was great value.

I'll be glad to post back when I've been (and leave my ebay feedback) if you like, although I don't know if this is in the location that you are looking for.

I have recently been to the spa in Bath and it was fantastic but the prices have risen a LOT since we booked at Xmas and I wouldn't now pay the prices they are asking even though the treatments and therapists were very good.

Just wanted to come back on this an update after my weekend away.

I though it was fantastic especially considering the price.
We paid £230 for Dinner, bed and breakfast in a premium room (huge room, super king bed, huge balcoony and view over the bay).
We also have a 1 hour treatment included each (value £44 each) - the value of the dinner was £27.50 each per night.

I can understand a few of the negative comments because if you were a discrerning business traveller then a few of the aspects were not really 5 star e.g. waiting staff leaning over you to pass dishes, however if you are away for a short break and aren't worried about "silver service" then it was fantastic for the price.

We also went on a speedboat right around the bay which was great.

The guy I bought this from goes by the username of voucherking in ebay.
    I have no conncetion whatsoever.

He has 502 feedback and a rating of 100%.

However I would like to make people aware that you have to pay in advance and because there is no paypal then you have no protection.
I was initially concerned about this now, but after my recent experience then I wouldn't be bothered. I guess he could runaway but I think it's unlikely if he has a booming business that makes him more money.
Still people should be aware of the risks.

Dinner in the evening was very nice and so was breakfast.
Couldn't fault it unless you a discerning business traveller used to 5* hotels.
I don't think it's quite up to 5* standard as it's mainly a seaside resort and not generally a business hotel, but unless you are really fussy then you won't find anything to complain about.
  • I can highly recommend this Hotel Spa - its not a luxurious pool, but was a lovely relaxing break with fabulous treatments. I've been twice now - great value for money I think.
