electric scales

hi all.

I bought a set of Salter scales from argos in december for my son for x mas.
They have now developed a fault.
I sadly no longer have the receipt but have the box with the argos sticker on the side.
Is it possible do you think to exchange them?
According to the argos website you can return a product within the year for an exchange, but how would i prove the date?

If you paid by card take a statement. If you paid by cash you may be stuffed.

Just pop in and have a word with them. If its a relatively new model that wasn't available 12 months ago they may swap it for you.

Have you tried contacting the manufacturer? I have two sets of Salter scales. My digital kitchen scales have a 10 year guarantee, and my digital bathroom scales have a 15 year guarantee, so I'm guessing they may be helpful if it's a relatively new model/obvious it hasn't passed the guarantee period.
Alternatively, Argos are usually fairly good if the box has their sticker on
