We cannot stop greed in a monetary system which allows Monsanto to commit fraud, but we could at least try to inform the consumer...?

It's not something I know much about, that said I see no good reason why GMO food cannot be very clearly labelled as such. As said the patenting, secrecy and business practice is extremely distasteful imo.

I think Coke and pepsi are not in line fro great growth in the developed world- I think the market is saturated. So I'd see how much room for growth for either there is in the developing world. Coke I would think is the stronger brand name here, but pepsi is sweeter tasting.

Or go with what you know- which one do you drink? I much prefer Coke myself.

    Thank you.
I thought they could be buy mainly because they are trying to deal with the health issues and as I said, investing into Stevia (natural sweetener) etc.
But Linton have tapped a point of it being american shares.. There is a currency exchange risk..
Do you think it is substantial? We are printing money, they are printing money... could it go more then 15% either way, realisticaly? Given what we know now?

Well, from mid 2007 to Q2 2009 the GBP/USD rate from 2.1 to 1.4x....so a 50% gain against the GBP in 18 months.....now I don't see any reason for that to happen in the next 2 years but if you look at history, there is volatility there....although it could go in your favour of course.

    Good luck

About 1/6 of the liquid consumed on earth is made by Coca Cola. How much more can they grow? :p

I dont see them as a risky company, far from it. Over the years they've had to modify their ingredients many times due to health concerns. People still drink it though.

You should give more consideration to the share price and valuation over which company is better though imo. They are both pretty similar in terms of brand strength, Pepsi is king in the US, Coke outside the US.
Faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Well, if there is any growth it will be taken by them.
If anything, you get your divi:D One of those stable companies. Or so I think. I might be wrong.

Atush - I prefer Coca Cola myself.

If you look at sugar consumption models historically, generally an undeveloped country's consumption is very low. As they become developing the consumption rises very sharply until it reaches a plateau when a developed country. In most developed countries, consumption per capita is pretty damn flat.

Coke and co. will have a fairly aggressive strategy therefore to penetrate emerging markets - but I don't know enough to gauge how this may be reflected in the SP.

In any case, all the best with your investments.

i can't see the growth - there are better homes for your money in my opinion. If you must go US, then i think the banking sector will be hot for a little while - just my IMO, but they are the 'lagging' sector in the record highs of the S&P.
