There's a regular, cheap and safe bus service from outside the Terminal building (across the pick-up lane - the bus stops are under the concrete flyover). I'll see if I can dig out the route number but it's been a year or so since I've used it.

Alternatively, any taxi outside the terminal will take them into town but they'll obviously pay a lot more. The journey takes about 25 minutes.

I've used the Cedaz shuttle service a couple of times and found it to be great value. I've stayed at the Marriott and Renaissance hotels and one of the stops the bus uses is right outside the two hotels (they are opposite each other). I think that the Ibis is just around the corner from them.

The regular service operates up to 9.00 pm and then it reverts to a more bespoke service, which is not as cheap but still good value.

They have a desk in the arrivals hall from where you buy your ticket. If arriving later in the evening, the desk will probably be closed in which case you just go outside the terminal and pay the driver or despatcher.

I've used these people and they were great - our plane was delayed and we texted to say we wouldn't be arriving until the early hours, but they waited for us.

  • The bus is called the number 100 Airport Express which goes to the Zilchin metro station which is on the B line, the normal bus is the 119 which terminates at the Dejvicka metro station on the A line. Both of these metro lines go straight into the centre. The trams are by far the best way to go around Prague with the added bonus of a fast clean and safe metro system for getting back to the hotel at night. In the airport arrivals hall there is a transport information booth where you can buy great value 3 day travel tickets which cover the trams, buses and metro. If you are going to use a taxi go for the AAA yellow taxis as they are metered, I think you can prebook on the web try https://www.aaa.radiotaxi.cz but should not be nessasary. Download a metro map from the web before you go it makes it so simple. It's a great place to visit and the beer's still cheap!

We used them 16 months ago and found the emails to be prompt and friendly and so were the drivers. It was easy to meet them at the pre-arranged spot at the airport.

We hunted out recommendations on the internet before we chose them. I think you'll find they still get good write ups.

I came home on Monday after a long weekend in Prague. I e-mailed my hotel and asked them about transfers and they arranged a pick-up for us. The taxi driver was waiting as we came out of customs and we were charged about £15 which was added to the hotel bill. We arrived around 10pm so I was happier doing that than using public transport in a place I'd never visited before!
