How likely is it that my DSA recommendations will be accepted?

Recently I had a needs assessment, and I was recommended a Macbook Pro 15", a printer, study skills mentor and an internet allowance. This was for severe dispraxia and aspergers syndrome. The needs assessor recommended me a Macbook Pro 15" because she decided that large changes (like changing the OS that I am used to) would cause me a lot of stress and it would take me a long time to adjust (change causes me a lot of stress and worry, even small changes like lecture times changing). I also have licences for Matlab for mac and other software, which I would have to re-buy with a windows laptop. Now the needs assessor has been doing needs assessments for 20+ years, so she said that her recommendations would be justified, however Student Finance Wales will need to approve of the recommendations. How likely is it that these recommendations will be approved by SFW?
Thanks for your help

    Hi,

I'm from England, so this maynot apply directly but my experiance with SFE is that as long as you need it and it can justified and meets the regulations, it should be fine.

I can undertsand the whole change in software issue too, have all the quotes provided in the DSA Report have Macbook laptop stated?

I also found taxi allowance good too, but you may have to live off-campus to get this. Also make sure you read what printers etc they're suggesting in the report, as you can pay a bit more and upgrade.

I got a similar spec printer which is a pain, as it takes forever to copy an A4 document

    Good luck with Uni :)

We have found that everything recommended in the assessment was accepted by the funding body.

There won't be any software issues as I brought all the software i would need for my now dead macbook. The assessor specifically stated that I would receive a Macbook Pro 15" with a decent specification on all the quotes. Probably going to pay for an upgrade to the retina model because that is a very nice laptop :)

My husband has dyspraxia too and also found that everything that was included in the assessment was provided for by the awards agency. Hopefully you have the same experience :)
