Lots of companies selling these, I have used the services of dmclub.net before, there are plenty of options though, you can talk to BT for instance

You might want to look into an 03 number either in place or alongside 0800 number. 03 numbers come out of call usage allowances on mobiles whereas 0800 numbers are chargeable.

Ofcom introduced UK-wide 03 numbers as an alternative to chargeable 08 numbers, such as 0870.

These numbers allow organisations to have a single national point of contact without consumers having to pay extra to call them.

Calls to 03 numbers cost no more than a national rate call to an 01 or 02 number and must count towards any inclusive minutes in the same way as 01 and 02 calls.

These rules apply to calls from any type of line including mobile, BT, other fixed line or payphone

OP are you sure you want an 0800 number? People calling from mobiles are likely to have to pay for these calls which may cause them to call a competitor with a geographical number, although Ofcom are proposing making these calls free in the future

  • I understand the need for an 0800 but don't go with BT as above, will cost you dearly, much cheaper options from many other providers.

It's worth also getting a Virtual 01 or 02 number so as mentioned by others, people calling from a mobile won't be put off from calling. Many services now advertise both an 0800 and an 01 or 02.

03 numbers are available and in theory make sense, but the majority of the public don't know what they are and they are mainly used by Public Sector organisations. Most are suspicious and think they are premium rate.
