Hi
My daughter and her partner were about to move in together and put deposit on a DFS sofa and stool, the item was to be "made" She paid deposit of £200 via her credit card a month later all has gone wrong.
Basically we understand the commitment made when she ordered the suite. But is there any bargaining we can do to help her. She now does not know when she will get another property (long story!) But she has been left with an order of £2k for a sofa she no longer needs for the foreseeable!
My wife phoned explained suggesting that if they could sell it before the due delivery or someone else etc might want the same in one of their other shops. The call back from DFS was basically "tough" expected really.
We might be able to store it with a shift around in the garage etc but is there any bargaining we could use to get out of this someway!
I have been told that perhaps an agreement on my daughter paying some amount sort of meet in the middle (at least she would not be 2k out of pocket) and this would be a harsh lesson learnt!
Also of course theres ebay!
But any help would be great thanks
