I have solar panels and am registered with EDF for the feed in tariff. Can I switch my supplier for my electricity bills?

Yes.
The two are unrelated.

EDF are compulsory participants in the FIT's scheme, like all the Big Six. They have to register and pay you still whether they supply you or not.
