JSA - Advice please!

I have been made redundant whilst on maternity leave and have been advised that I can claim JSA. When I rang to register I was told that I would have to actively look for full time employment, but I only want part time work until my baby is a bit older.
I would love to stay at home a bit longer, but finances will not allow and we would not be entitled to extra tax credits (or so they tell me!). My partner has reasonable salary, but nothing left once mortgage/bills paid. Fortunately we have no debt!
I have an appointment next week at the Jobcentre - will they turn me away if I say I do not want full time employment? Also I do not have anyone who could mind the baby if I have a job interview unless my partner takes time off work - do they make any allowances?
I'm wondering whether to proceed or not - any advice greatfully received!

Yes In order to receive JSA you would need to be looking for a fulltime job, though there is nothing to stop you also looking for a part-time job.0
