Life Insurance for someone in the Armed Forces

Hi all,
Long time reading, first time poster!
I am wondering if anyone on here specialises in brokering Life Insurance for Armed Forces personnel. I am also looking for "own occupation" Income Protection. I know that both are quite hard to come by for someone in the Armed Forces. I am also aircrew so that makes things even more difficult.
If anyone has any contacts I would be more than grateful, or any advice on where to go. I have tried the usual avenues of the forces discount website to see who is advertising on there, most do not cover any sort of Income Protection and quotes for Life Insurance seem to vary wildly from quote to quote.
Thank you in advance!
Dan

I'd contact an IFA for this. Income protection on a purely "own occupation" basis tends to be offered by specialist firms. The more general insurers offer OO to white-collar workers, but their systems automatically bump others down to "work tasks" or similar.
While the IFS is doing that, they can also be looking at the best/cheapest life cover too...I am a mortgage broker. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. This signature is here as I follow MSE's Mortgage Adviser Code of Conduct. Have you looked at the PAX cover?
Further to Kingstreets advice, look for an IFA near a military base as they will be used to the needs of HMF.
Might be worth posting your question on this MSE thread as well which is dedicated to HMF.

King street, I'm. A forces specialist and IP is not available in any form. Due to fact they have much higher likelihood of career threatening injury and their normal career is only to age 40/55 in some cases.I am a Financial Adviser specialising in Mortgages, Protection, Health and Medical Insurance. I also write wills. All information posted on this site is for discussion only, and should not be taken as advice.0 -
TBH I expected that, but I didn't want to say for definite that cover wouldn't be possible, just in case there was any small chance.I am a mortgage broker.
