Hi all im new to this so please be kind! lol
i moved in to my house 2 years ago yesterday, previous tenant was with NPower for gas, i called them to change it to my name they said they no longer supplied it. I changed to another company but was switched back to NPower without being informed. Basically no matter how many times ive called, sent letters etc they dont seem to be understanding that the previous tenant no longer lives there and its me theyre supplying gas to. Have had 3 'Notice of Warrant of entry' which i called them about each time as i have a 2 year old and they still didnt get anything sorted they are still chasing the previous tenant for the gas that i am using instead of billign me. Anybody have any ideas on what i can do??
thank you xx

i wouldn't bank on that, i wrote to the ombudsman in October and I've still not had a response. I have now launched yet another complaint with NPOWER ............where do i go now, Offgem aren't helping, NPOWER are less that useless.........maybe its time i instruct a solicitor?0

op this doesnt sound right, even by npowers standards. they wouldnt et you back if you had a transfer of supply with a genuine contract, are you sure they didnt just object?
Provide your tenancy to them and they would update itDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0 -
Thanks for replies. chanz4 ive provided tenancy and still nothing. They know that i live there as they have added that information to the account for the previous tenant including the date i moved in but still do not seem to want to make itm y account. And with regards to the transfer of supply, when i eventually got to speak to npower about it they said the company i had attempted to move to may have decided not to take me becasue of the current debt attached to my home address outstanding swith npower so it seems im stuck with them even though they dont seem to want me!0

This sounds like a co-operative objection, e.g. there fraud department has flagged you possibly or the new supplier has credit checked you.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. Start again - Send n'power a further copy of your lease agreement showing the date you took over the property, but this time do it with a cover letter headed Complaint0

I'd try taking it to the energy ombudsman.
This will cost them money if taken up & mean that reasons for their actions will be provided and a provisional decision then made by the Ombudsman - which you will in turn get to see - and may therefore be better placed to dispute matters if
appropriate
Make clear that you are a new tenant, quite happy to pay your bill - but not the former occupiers - how you have tried to resolve matters over two years (even if they did suspect fraud two years is a long time to do something about it!) etc or they may try & fob you off by saying it's a commercial decision but in this case I can't see that it is.
You aren't obliged to do so but if you have any information on the last occupiers whereabouts, date of leaving property etc and / or your landlord, any correspondence re switch / refusal from either Npower or co. you wanted to switch to (you should have been given a reason for any objection) it may help to include it.0 -

It's an incompetent money driven company! Switch and tell the other companies to sort it out. they are chummy and listen more to other companies than to residents!
The complaints team seem like a bunch of jokers. They even say parts of their company like Homeserve do not belong to them so you cannot complain to them even though they try to ram it down your mouth. A bit harsh but it is a decrepid company0
