Yes, he was correct (admitting this through gritted teeth lol!)

Not all of it was done on Fbook, sorry I wasn't very clear there, but I know, it's an evil horrible thing when used inappropriately.

Having said that, at least I have proof of the conversation.

I guess I should just be that little more aware that not everyone is generally good, I always give the benefit of the doubt. DH thinks i'm too soft. Rightly so it seems.
Don't knock yourself for being kind and seeing the best in folk, as we get older we become more untrusting so it's nice to still have that belief in folk!

Is it worth going thru an agency in future, to (hopefully!) save you all the hassle of hiring and firing someone. Your ex-cleaner sounds like an absolute nightmare!

Agencies are not necessarily a guarantee of a good cleaner. My two worst cleaners were from agencies. The best ones are word of mouth recommendations.

A while back, DH and I deceided to get a cleaner to do a couple of hours a week, and to be honest, from the start it was a nightmare, but I (unlike him) always try to see the good in people.
Or maybe he just saw it as a straight forward business transaction in which failure to deliver at first attempt, without explanation or apology meant he could see this spoke volumes for long term attitude. I imagine being a policeman he has seen everything before and knows an unreliable chancer when he sees one.
Women have a greater tendancy to be a bit too huggy wuggy, rather business like in these situations. One chance was good of you but repeated failure to prove the service she was being paid for...

Change the locks and don't provide a key for the next one until you feel confident they do a good reliable job for you.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

change locks, and do a screen shot, so you can prove yourself if she starts going to the police
The opposite of what you know...is also true

Thanks guys :) I did mention to DH about changing the locks, it'll be an awful expense but then at least we'll have peace of mind.

Thanks skalover, I did do a screen dump of the whole exchange, and then found her posts about her other ex clients she bad mouthed, so I have plenty of ammo.

I'm so annoyed as I know I have done absolutely nothing wrong! I just hope she gets laughed out of the station...but at the same time hope this doen't cause DH any hassle at his work.

She's full of hot air, I would doubt very much she goes anywhere near a police station and I agree, I wouldn't waste money changing locks, get hubby or someone else round there pronto to collect your key!

Good tip about telling her if she keeps it up you will go to the taxman as you have been paying her under the counter.

Chances are she wont be earning enough to pay tax anyway but she sounds thick enough not to realise that lol
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
