Moving out in a DFW style!

Hi Ingela!
I don't blame you for needing to move out! It eventually just becomes too much doesn't it!?
I would agree with everyone else about the freecycle and letting it be known among friends and family that you will be moving out. I managed to get loads of furniture and kitchen stuff from my parent's friends!
Someone else had a great point as well. Make do for a while and perfect your own place over time. I found that a couple of beanbags are a great temporary replacement for a sofa, and before I managed to get a bed in my flat I made do with an inflatable camping matress. I still have storage boxes being used as tables!
You will find that the thrill you get from being in your own place more than outweighs any worries about furniture quality.
Good luck and I hope you enjoy your new freedom!0 -
it all sounds very promising so far, must admit i am still a bit snobby about charity shops near me, but i will look into finding a warehouse one as it sounds like you did brilliantly out of it davey69!0

Hi Heloearth, it definitely has become too much!
I'm quite happy to make do and perfect over time i think, i'll be happy with anything just to get into our own place.0 -
This is all exciting - good luck - when my and darling boyf get back from France in August we'll be looking to move in together! looking around now for bargain lamps and kitchen stuff etc, lol.0

Yeah I am afraid I was a bit like that about getting stuff from a charity shop too, but I guess the way I looked at it was, people with lots of money buy quality sofas and stuff and when they want rid of them, they dont bother selling them, they give them away to places like charity shops cos they dont need the money
Well it worked in my mind (and my lounge!!!) anyway!;)

When we moved into our flat last June we bought loads of things from Tesco value range, they are still lasting us now and until i have more money they will do.
We also bought things from argos - things like bedding we get their double bedding set for £8 its a nice colour and not bad for the price.
I dont know if you have them around where you live but we also have shops called Bargin Madness(or b&m) and Home Bargins these are great shops they sell the forgin(sp?) version of things at cheap prices.0 -
Sign up for the Aldi and Lidl newsletters on their website too - they have some great things on offer and change the offers once or twice a week - things loike garden furniture, kitchen cookwear, bedding, etc!
I forgot about the Tesco Value stuff - bedding and towels are good 'value'0 -
