Not the MSE News: npower profits up, months after hiking prices
I'm not sure why this news, which originally broke yesterday, has not been mentioned by the MSE team yet?
Profits at npower for 2012 were up 25% at £390 million, compared to £313 million in 2011. It lost 70,000 customers last year and hiked remaining customers variable tariffs an average of about 9%.

MSE are usually late to the party on news but not this late, agreed. Bizarrely, could the increase in profits be anything to do with the fact the company didn't have to pay as much in fines/compensation in the last financial year compared to the previous year?0
