tomorrow is the day

Well that's me out of the court, not quite what I was excpecting it is going before the judge today and my order will be sent out in the post. Cried all the way through her checking my paperwork. Then promptly threw up once I left the clerk. I don't feel what I wanted to feel as I am not clutching the piece of paper I so wanted to be. She has however stamped my copy of my paperwork and said if the bailiffs come knocking I can show them and tell them the papers were going in front of the judge today. She was (as everyone reassured me) lovely and did say they don't encourage anyone to call them but said she is ok with me calling as I was rather upset. Drew the line at me collecting my bankruptcy order up though!

Not even sure I fancy cake now that is unheard of me so maybe I will get a slice in case I change my mind!

I can understand the disappointment at not knowing the BR is definitely done and completed. I also felt dreadful emotionally after my BR, I was so full of shame and embarrassment I think. The relief came later, I think it was weeks rather than months later, but it was such a relief when that came. Towards the end of my months of BR, even the shame left me. Most of the debt was due to no fault of my own and I had little choice to do what I did and at least I was brave and wise enough to deal with it and get the clean slate I needed. I hope that peace comes to you too, sooner rather than later.
I celebrated my discharge with champagne, that was my only celebration, lovely though!

I called the court and it the bankruptcy order has been passed and will be winging its way to me in the post. Felt a bit robbed £700 and all I had to show for it was a mascara stained face and a red stamp on a copy of my forms!!

Shall see how I feel when the paper lands on my door mat!

My bankruptcy order has arrived. So that's that then!! on Thursday 7th at 13:25 I became a bankrupt. I am not finding an instant gratification from it all. I do however feel emotional, numb but the shame has passed by. I also feel when I take a deep breath my chest and shoulders don't feel as tight so it's had some effect.

I feel like I did when my decree absolute came through, I didn't want to do it but it's for the best!!

I would like to say a massive thank you to all that take the time to post answers and best wishes to all my questions and worries. I have done this solely on my own and the support from here has been better than any I could/would of got from my family or friends. The Cab advisor I saw in December was pretty impressed with my knowledge that I had gained reading this board.

Thank you once again to everyone (tears streaming down face proper. Oscar style now!)
