How do I get Goldfish to increase my limit ?

Now first off this is all my own fault.
I have a Goldfish card. I used this as my main card with 10K limit up until 18 months ago. I then got a Conran card ( 10K limit ) for the cashback, and dropped the limit on Goldfish to 2K and stopped using the Goldfish card. I always pay off any balance in full each month. Since the Conran card is no longer doing cashback, and I just don't fancy Egg, I've switched back to using the Goldfish card ( vouchers being better than nothing ).However when I rang them to up my credit limit, they only offered 3.5K. Said because the card wasn't used for a while they have to monitor me i.e. responsible lending. The rep said she could pass the request to their underwriters, but I said don't bother.
This isn't a complaint - it's my fault, I made an incorrect assumption that they would reinstate the previous 10K. Question - is the only way to get the credit limit up to continue using it, and over time ( years ? ) move from the 3.5K offered to 10K needed ?

That would be a huge increase. Probably best to speak to the Underwriters as they have more authority than advisors when giving credit limits. But I very much doubt that you could increase it the 10k you want. You could state that you used to have a 10k limit with them but they will probably respond by indicating that you havent used your card for two years and within that time period they have to see if you are a responsible borrower.
Its normally best to the run the account for 6 months paying off fully each month, then you will stand a better chance of increasing it back to the 10K. Again there is no guarantee though.0
