    Where is the computer kept?

Does it have plenty of ventilation around it where it is?

Gaming is going to produce a lot of heat and if not in a well ventilated area it will crash.

If you take out the graphics card and run the pc using the CPU i3 graphics does the system crash/freeze?

You will not be able to play games. If it does not crash it may point to the 450W psu. Really 600W of brand name psu would make sense.

After seeing the above responses it does seem the power supply is the issue.

It lists no brand is is weak even for a branded one, when I got my first power hungry card it said a minimum of 500W but even a branded one didnt work so had to get a 600W one

The only other thing is maybe the paste on the cpu isnt on correct, too much too little or just bad quality and its not transferring the heat correct so when gaming it overheats.

    Hello Guys :)

@ Jinx. I think you are right in that the PSU may not be getting enough power so hence the freezing. That I did put to the PC Company but they declined that that was the issue. I don't know why they declined that being the issue but they did seem quite put off that I even suggested it to be honest.

@ dalesrider. The computer has lots of ventilation and also close to a window in a large dining room and a few feet away from the wall.

@ andyrpsmith. Yes, we have run the PC with onboard graphics and it never crashes that way.

@ Viberduo. Well I don't know about the paste. I guess they must have checked that when the whole PC when back to them, I don't know.

Do you think my approach would be to 'ask' that the PSU should be replaced? Also would the GPU be damaged in any way from the PSU?

Many thanks for your replies. :)

If it were my PC I would ask if the PSU could be upgraded to at least 600W. If they say no then I would buy my own (easy to fit), but make sure it is a brand name in the £60 - £80 price range.

I have asked them now if they can upgrade the PSU to a 600w. I should hear back during the week and will let you know. :)

I was going to say the PSU. Gaming machines are power hungry.

I guess the card has a separate power input directly from the PSU?

What crashes exactly? Read your posts a few times and you just say it crashes.

But what happens exactly? Blue screen? Fault code?

Checked the windows error logs? Could it be the game crashing it?

Check temperatures when your gaming to see if its temperature related.
