Missing returns, but no proof of postage

Hello. I'm having a bit of a nightmare with a mail order delivery, and I wonder if anyone can help.

In January I ordered three items of clothing online from Yumi. The items failed to arrive, and I dutifully waited the 15 working days they said I should wait before complaining. One item did turn up on the 15th day, but the other two were still missing. I emaiedl Yumi to complain, but didn't get any response. I chased them again a few days later and was told "... we have now been advised form our new warehouse that your two other items have been dispatched out to you and they should be with you shortly." They did arrive a couple of days later.

Two of the items were too small, so I returned them. Two weeks later, I still haven't had my refund, so I emailed them again. I was told that they never received my returns. They are demanding a proof of postage before doing the refund, and although I did get one at the time, I have since lost it.

Is there anything I can do? I'm owed nearly £50! I reviewed both items on their website and complained that they were smaller than the advertised sizes - why would I then keep the items?! I have never had all this trouble with a company before - I've never had anything go missing or not had returns arrive, so for both these things to happen with one order makes me think something is wrong with their warehouse and order processing systems.

How can I get my money back? :(

I suspect you won't get your money back as there is no proof of return.

In the same way as you have no proof that you sent the goods back, you also have no proof that it is a fault at Yumi's end.

You posted the goods and they remain your responsiblity until delivered.

Sorry, but I cannot think of any way you can recover your money.
Your only chance went when you lost the certificate of posting.
