Sent my app for AQA last night too - hope I did well, but it was a bit of a random test! Managed to get an answer for all of them though, so fingers crossed.

Just waiting for the new M&S card to come through so I can transfer my most expensive CC balance over and start reducing the interest.

Reckon we should update our sigs with progress as we go?

    Hi Seaxwyn

Thanks for joining us - don't worry if you don't think you can do it - you can join in and give it a good try - maybe even just aim to halve the loan that you pay £98 a month for. Wouldn't it be great if you could work hard to clear some and only have 25 months left to pay at christmas rather than 51?

I don't know if I will be able to halve all the debts but I'll give it my best shot

OK boo - thanks for the encouragement and I do need a challenge to get me trying harder so I'm in. I'll add up the amount of interest I pay this month and think up an achievable-but-challenging target. Watch this space

Try keeping a notebook and every time you are tempted by something (eg choccy bar, night out) and you don't have the treat, pay the money you would have spent off your debts ASAP. You might feel a bit silly at 1st sending a few quid a week to the creditor with the highest APR but as a large supermarket says "Every little helps"
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)
  • Hi Boo

I would really love to join this challenge, I'm going home from work now but I will work out how much interest I'm paying each month tomorrow probably in my dinner hour and update the signature. Can't wait to get going.

Hi to those who have joined!

Dr Hook - I think updating the signatures is a really good idea so we can all keep track of each others progress.

MCB and Seaxwyn - welcome to the board - I'm sure that with a challenge like this is will benefit us all!

Telady - thanks for the words of advice it's actually a really good idea - even if it's £1 here and there its' something isn't it.

I'm going to give it a go too.

Barclaycard at £4765.64. I'm going to put it in my signature too, and hopefully it'll go down. Thanks Boo.

    YEY!!! :j :j :j

Welcome SadGirl - glad you could join us - we can help you halve that debt at least by Christmas.

Have you had any luck with AQA advertising for UK staff?? How's your Ebay coming on? I have £25 so far and I think something else will be selling for another £5 soon - £30 off the debt already and it's only week 1 :rotfl:

My ebay stuff finishes on saturday and sunday night. I have no bids yet :( but lots of watchers. I have so much junk, I'm going to list some more stuff on sunday evening. I think everyone is leaving it until the last minute.
Pigsback has had no points for me for two days :( I have joined grassroots, and lightspeed so I'm collecting points like mad. I even persuaded my OH to join pigsback without giving too much information away.
