help with benefits please?

Hi, could any helpful people help me to understand if I need to change any benefits etc? here is our situation!-
My partner is on long term incapacity benefit, and I do not work so I can look after him. We get housing and council tax benefit. We have no children and are both 24. For the last year he has been doing "permitted work" for £25 a week (probably an hours work a week) and he has been reciving around £25 a week income support.
heres where it gets confusing!
He has just been awarded the lower rate care DLA benefit, and also because he can only do the permitted work for a year has had to give the work up, which I have taken over instead. so I'm now earning the £25 instead of him. Does this make any difference to our benefits? Also do I have to inform them of this and how do I do it? (I assume they will know about the DLA?) and the other question...Is there an amount of money I could earn before my benefit changes/before I have to inform them of it? I remember seeing somewhere that there was a small amount I could earn before anything changes but I cant remember how much it was? Any help would be great, thanks!
