PND and credit cards - I can't ring them!

in Credit cards
I was diagnosed with having post-natal depression in December last year and have been unable to work since. I stopped paying my credit cards as I couldn't afford to and I don't know how to approach them. I now have a limited amount of funds coming in and would love to pay them off but when they ring me I feel sick and can't answer the phone.
I'm not sure of the best way to approach them, I am very scared - I suppose of being told off! I don't know what my rights are here (I've been a very good customer up til now).

More information like how many credit cards you have and the balances you owe and how long have u been paying them for would have been helpful.
However though I am not too sure but you can always write to them explaining your situation or try and speak to them and come to some sort of an arrangement as ignoring the problem would not make it go away.
Also if they are main stream lenders and if you have been paying them regularly before for long they can be sympathetic towards you, also if you have some kind of payment protection plan with these cards even that can help.
Am sure some one will come along and shed more light into this. But you can try these methods.0
