Buying a voucher from a hard sell on the street - can I get my money back

Sorry what I meant was when I googled them after buying the voucher I saw that they had done Groupon in the past, I didn't realise this at the time, and my point was it wasn't an amazing deal like she made out but was the going rate.
I think I just need to go along and refuse refuse refuse or write it off and learn never to get sucked in again

So how much have you paid them?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

£40 but I have to pay another £100 when I book my appointment ("refundable booking fee") which they then refund when I attend the appointment, this is what is now making me twitchy.0 -
How much does £40 mean to you - can you easily afford to write it off? If not, then the £100 'booking fee' is going to be beyond your reach...."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Or they say they'll knock off the price of the photos :S
My advice? See if you can cancel (and don't take their literature as the final say so, give them a ring).
I knew a girl who fell for this to the tune of about £700 - to be fair she was a bit slow, but she only worked for minimum wage as a cleaner and they managed to convince her and a friend they were model material (she is not) and that they needed these photos (they did not). I was flabbergasted when I heard it - at the time I was planning my wedding and my complete hair and makeup, plus the photographer for the whole day, photos and a wedding album came to less!!0 -
I was going to suggest going with no cash or cards but they have obviously thought of this with the booking fee.
Do you have a friend who is strong-willed and could state no firmly on your behalf?0 -
Nonsense, Sales people are there to sell their items to customers who ask for it.Money-Saving-King wrote: »I personally disagree with this even though I make every attempted to avoid being sold anything on the street.
Sales people are there for selling things people perhaps haven't thought of but to some people could be really appealing. Buy one packet of bacon and get another packet of bacon free isn't really quite the same thing!
If I find a product appealing, I go into the store that sells it and make further enquiries. If I haven't thought about buying the product, I'm not interested. I certainly would not buy a product from some peddler on the street who has to ask me if I might be interested, even if I wanted such a product.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
"Marleyboy you are a legend!"
MarleyBoy "You are the Greatest"
Marleyboy You Are A Legend!
Marleyboy speaks sense
marleyboy (total legend)
Marleyboy - You are, indeed, a legend.0 -
OP, write it off and don't go. A very good lesson learned and a lot of people on here very grateful for the heads up.Pants0

I will never understand why people are so easy to give in to this stuff. If they're being rude in holding you up for work or whatever then be rude back and tell them it sounds like !!!! and you just don't bloody want it and even if you did you won't be taking a wallet or any payment details with you to the shoot anyway.
Or, pretend you're trying to sell something too and turn it around.
"Would you be interested in our makeover--"
"I've got a better offer for YOU, would you be interested in this... *searches pockets* keyring with MY christian name on it?!"0 -

This is part of their pressure selling tactic, so they deduct this amount from the cost of the photos. They'll then offer you a credit loan package to pay for them if you day you can't afford it.
Just say you were made bankcrupt or something, and keep saying NO!
Did the £40 include a free photo?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
