Morning all

My sister-in-law has been sent some photos in jpg format as attachments to an e-mail.
When she launches OE, it lookes for any new mails as normal and comes up with a message saying "9 emails found" and then starts to download them (I assume).
It gets to "3 of 9 emails" and then seems to stall for up to an hour and then times out. She can't remember her password to get into her webmail account (which we tried last night) and can't get at these e-mails to do anything with them (even if it's to delete them!).

Anyone any ideas/suggestions?

Use a password recovery tool like this and then log in to the web based server.

The best suggestion I would offer is to REMEMBER your login details, or use a password reset function to get it. If you have images in your POP account, this problem is going to persist until you remove them. And in order to do that, you're either (1) gonna have to call support or (2) gonna need to know your login details for webmail.

Is this a dial-up connection or broadband? What's the total size of the jpg attachments?

Disable any email scanning software - this is sometimes part of anti-virus software.

She's on a dial-up and becuase several people have sent her the same photos it runs to about 7MB.
AFAIK, she's only got a standard AV installed, nothing on OE is active, but I could be wrong.

She says she now remembers her password, but it has 12 characters. The number of blobs in the OE details has 13. Could this have something to do with it saving the password? (As you can tell, I use OE regularly :o )
Still won't let her into her webmail, and there doesn't appear to be any contact details for the CS team. She's on UkOnline if anyone has a number .....?

Thanks for that - and saynoto0870 has some alternatives to the 0906 number that's on the website.
