Hi Techie guys (and girls).
I hope you can help. I want to buy a small USB stick but can't decide which one to choose.
- Kingston DT Micro 16GB
- SanDisk Cruzer Fit 16GB
Are they both the same or would you say one is better than the other?

To be honest unless you need a USB drive with specialist features, such as encrytion and password protection, just buy the cheapest. Either of those should be fine, they're both well known makes. One thing I would say is that if the data you're putting onto it is important then I'd recommend you buy two so that if one of them stops working or gets lost you still have another copy.0

Thanks agrinnall. I should maybe have mentioned: it will be used in the car to play audio books, music, etc.0

OK, so if the original files are on your PC that shouldn't be a problem. The only other thing then is to confirm that your car can actually read a 16GB drive. I use a 8GB drive in mine (a Ford Fiesta) and it's fine but I've never tried a 16. If you know anyone who has one that you could try first it might save you buying something that doesn't work.0

Just to add, if you look in the owners manual that came with the car/radio, it should say what the maximum size of USB it can use is. But it's worth checking anyway as it's not always correct.0

Didnt think about that when I bought my 16GB for use with the radio (I just plunged straight in and bought 1), you now have me worried that not the whole drive is being recognised. Ive got 1 of these, I got it last when it was £8.54 (was on HUKD), I got it because its small and ill be less likely to knock itif it were a bigger flash drive.0 -

I think it's usually a case of all or nothing, so if it can recognise the drive I would expect it to be able to address the whole thing.0 -
Thanks guys. I went ahead and ordered the one that DCFC79 has (black not blue). I do hope it will work well.0

I was going to say I'd be wary of the Sandisk one because it's a VERY tight fit in my parents' laptop's USB port. It makes me nervous when I have to use it.'til the end of the line0
