Hi all
Just seeking a bit of advice before i go to the store.
Bought my wife an eternity ring just before christmas.
At the weekend, she noticed one of the stones had fallen out. No chance in it being found as its tiny
This is a new one for us, we have never had a problem with jewellery.
Im sure it will be a case of them taking it for repair but they did try and push a warranty on me when i bought it and i said no.
It wasnt very expense (under £200) but has anyone dealt with EJ before? Am I in for a world of pain??!!
cheers

Not really a consumer rights question.
From a consumer rights point of view she should not be in for any kind of pain. In reality it will vary company to company, store to store, staff member to staff member.
Best thing to do is pick up the phone and talk to your local store, I am sure they are going to be obliging given it is only a month or two since purchase.Thinking critically since 1996....0 -

It can be because they can allege that it is accidental damage to one of the claws that has caused the loss in which case it isnt covered by consumer rights.
That said, when its under 6 months old it is up to the store to prove that this is the case rather than for you to prove that it isnt.0 -
cheers guys
Just gave them a call, reasonably helpful. Can take it to any branch but they need to 'examine it'
I think with the length of time shes had it (worn it), I dont think it will be a problem. We'll see.0 -
EJ are a reputable compnay, and usually use good local jobbing jewellers for repairs. They will examine the wear and tear on the ring before deciding whether to repair for free. Usually with this length of time, unless your wife has been concreting while wearing her ring, it should be a straightforward free of charge repair!
Have you looked at the settng? are the stones claw set? channel set? Whats the condition of the claws? has one snapped? Usually if a diamond is missing after a short length of time its because the claws weren't sufficiently tightened in the 1st place, QC should have picked this up, but as with anything its easy for a person to make an error.
TBH I can't see you encountering any problems with the company."I AM DEATH, NOT TAXES. I TURN UP ONLY ONCE."- Terry Pratchett0
