The obvious problems are that the dish has moved or the LNB has gone west0
-
yeah it was pretty stormy here at the weekend, it doesnt look to have moved. would a slight move make a difference?0

Before getting the ladder out have you anyone that you could borrow a receiver from or can you take yours to them. If the receiver borrowed does not work or yours works at friends then its definitely the LNB failed or the dish out of alignment. If you intend moving the dish mark its current location then move very slightly into the prevalent direction that the wind has blown from.0

It doesn't take a big move to knock them off line
If you can get to the dish - try moving it a little bit at a time & see if you can get it back, mark where you started from though first
If it has moved you should be able to move it back without slackening the bolts, You may even be able to see marks from where it was before0 -
whats a LNB?0

An LNB is the small device that receives the satellite signal, and is positioned in the middle of the dish.Of course, I may just be talking b****cks!0

Low Noise Block downconverter - it converts the sat signals down to a frequency that can be handled by cable.
or ........ the thing that the cable goes into on the end of the dish0 -
Have you done the obvious and unplugged the box from the mains for about 30 seconds and then plugged it back in and powered it up. This used to work on my old boxWe all evolve - get on with it0

Can anyone tell me why my satellite breaks up when it rains and the signal disappears?
I am worried that when they switch analogue off that I won't be able to watch anything if the weather is bad.Stopped smoking Jan 2007 after 23 years!Cigarettes NOT smoked = 240,945Smoke free days = 11 Years :TCash saved so far = £125,45,110 -

Maybe your satellite has dropped out of orbit.
Do you have a Sky Digibox? If so, the answers above apply to you. Test it at a friend's house etc.
