EMP visit, doctor report ever wrong ?

My wife had one several months ago and visiting ATOS doctor thought lump on her leg was a cyst, wife now has 8" scar where a nerve tumor was removed.

Had any similar mis diagnosis with a home visit ?

    It is not a medical.
It is an assessment of disability as it relates to the ESA legal tests of entitlement.

However, this does not mean that the doctor has no duty of care, and they should perform their duties to a professional standard.

Misdiagnosis - especially where the doctor has no ability to do tests, and only a brief history and interaction with the patient - will be fairly common.
A dangerous lump on the skin can look indistinguishable from others.
Cysts are more common than cancers.

Just looking through my posts and should have replied to this earlier, the problem is the Dr was told by my wife that it was thought it was a tumour and was being investigated via ultrasound appointment. We wouldn't expect a diagnosis during a 1/2 hour assessment but we would prefer that a lump the size of a hens egg wasn't dismissed as a cyst on documents used by the DWP and Tribunal to make decisions without evidence to back it up especially as they relied heavily upon the EMP. Strangely even when my wife had the ultrasound report detailing the diagnosis of a nerve tumour and submitted to the DWP she was accused of not being credible.
