Beneden Healthcare -Opinions?

Hi

Beneden healthcare have been heavily advertised on the radio recently and as I am in the emergency services I though we would have a look. I can join along with my partner and after 6 months any medical proceedure can be done under the insurance at one of their hospitals or a recommended one. We though this sounded interesting as my partner is in the building trade it may well be in the next 3 or 4 years he will have to get his wrist looked at and operated on. It would be good to have it done when he wants etc etc - no way we could afford to go private normally. Of course it may never happen.

i have never heard of them before, anyone else have any info, opinions or experience with them?

Regards

    Hi there

Just spotted the post, I've been with them 5 years and was under my mothers policy before taking my own out.

I highly recommend joining them, from my own personal experience I got appointments and consultations quicker and from the best than I possibly would have received without them. I think for the cost it's well worth it IMHO

Oh my mother and I are both civil servants, she had me and my siblings on her policy and now I have my own family and I have all my family on mine. You know you can have anyone under your policy, doesnt have to be immediate family.

Thank you for that. I was a bit concerned about getting no replies from this site and bearing in mind the amount of adverts there have been for this company i wondered about them.

Am interested to hear anything about Beneden, as have recently joined local council & they are listed as one of the Local Government "staff benefits"....... are they like a cheaper version of BUPA/PPP or more like HSA?

I've just joined their scheme and although I'm not 'allowed' to make a claim yet I know people who have and they say the service you get is excellant.

I've put my mum on my policy as well and even though she is 64, it still is only costing me about £1.25 for her per week, which I think is well worth it especially if it means she sees a nicer consultant than she had to endure last year when she had a health scare.

I think the advantage of this scheme is that regardless of how old you are you still pay the same premium as everyone else.
