Garden/ Driveway Quote

Good morning.

I've just had a quote for the following works to be done:

* Removal of a conifer (as high as house)
* Flattening & removal of a raised rockery with 3 tree stumps in it
* Building of a wall 10 m approx at front of property
* Extension of block paving on front driveway (approx 6m2)
* Installation of fence and secure gate at side of property (5m wide)
* Removal of a further 3 x 6ft tall tress
* Removal of all waste

Quote states that works will take 5 days, at a cost of £5,000
We are in Birmingham.

Does this sounds reasonable?

Many thanks in advance for any responses.

    sounds alot to me for 5 days work.

    may be worth getting the trees removed by a tree surgeon and then get the other works done by someone else.

    Also at that value I would suggest 3 quotes minimum

    Thanks for the reply. We're definitely getting more quotes, had another last night.

    £1,500 for the rockery removal and driveway extention
    £2,900 for the wall!!! :eek:

    Was thinking of getting a few specialists in too, ie tree surgeon, bricky etc

    does it have to be a wall? slab on edge, timber log retaining wall, sleepers?

    Perhaps you would be better buying the bricks, sand and cement yourself plus coping if required and then get a labour only brickie. Don't think that brick walls are anymore secure.
