Section 75

Hi,

Recently my family and I booked a hotel on a web site, allcheap-hotels.com, and paid in full on our credit card.
We wanted to confirm some details and so contacted the hotel directly, however, when we contacted them they said they had no reservation under our name.
On researching the website we booked from, it does say the hotel will have none of our personal details until 72 hours before we arrive. To confirm this we tried to contact the website, however their numbers are disconnected and they are not responding to emails.
We are unsure what to do, and were hoping someone could give us more details on whether this would be included within section 75. When I read through it, it said there were exceptions for travel agents, however I have also read that such sites would be covered.
At the moment we are unsure if anything is even wrong, but are slightly concerned that we are unable to contact the website.

Any advice would be appreciated!

    Have you done a review on AllCheap to see what others say?

    Normally when booking through these 3rd party sites you are buy from them and not the hotels.

    The Hotels sell rooms they think they will not fill to the 3rd party sites at a ridiculously low price, the 3rd party then inflate the price but sell it lower than the hotel would, so there is every likelihood that the Hotel may have a room booked but not a name.

    1st off. You are not looking at S75 here. There are chargeback options avaiable. Much quicker and easier from your point of view.

    When is the booking for?
    Has the hotel recieved a booking around the time you made your booking?
    Did you recieve a confirmation email?
    When have you tried to email the co? Some take a while to respond.

    At the moment there is little you can do. If the co say they do not process details till 72 hours before booking. Then untill then its sit tight.
    Even then if you contact the hotel and make another booking you could be looking at paying for 2 lots of rooms.

    End of the day no action can be taken till the day after you were due to stay.

    Also be aware that cancelling the booking with allcheap-hotels.com, will leave you stuck with their refund policy. Many of which are no refund.....

  • Hi, I signed up to have my conservatory replaced by a reputable compnay and got credit through the conservatory company via black horse, paid a 2k deposit. I signed off plans etc - the issue is that the company are now saying the work is now going to cost an additional 1.5k to complete - what would the best course of action be - I have spoken to the company and they are only offering to knock another £200 off the price...they are saying they are doing this at cost, and that the issues which are cuasing the increase could not have been known at the time the price was agreed....

    Any advice appreciated?!

    Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
