Blocking Ads On Facebook Using Host File

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Name Dropper I've been Money Tipped!
My host file was downloaded from http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm

I esny to block ads in Facebook and I'm using the following code
# [Facebook]
127.0.0.1 ads.ak.facebook.com
127.0.0.1 creative.ak.facebook.com
127.0.0.1 creative.ak.fbcdn.net #[textads]

But it is not making any difference; I was under the impression it would block the ads coming from Facebook but so far this hasn’t happened. I’ve cleared the cache in both Firefox and IE 9.

I'd appreciate any suggestions or ideas you might like to share. A few lines of code would be more than helpful. ;)

As always many thanks

Kevin

If you're using Firefox, you can download Ad-Block Plus (I think it's called) and that deals with a lot of them.
If you're using the latest version of Avast (Version 8, I think), there's an option in there to block ads as well.

Yes, Adblock on Chrome completely sanitises it for me, the other day I opened it in an un-blocked browser by accident and was shocked by the state of it, I had forgotten how bad it was with all the !!!!!!!
