DVD Recorders

I am wondering if it;s worth me buying one. Is it true that if you buy one you can watch on it a prgramme that you started to record a while ago and are still recording. Techwise I'm useless! All makes the same??

If you're talking about HD/DVD recorders (ones with a built in hard drive) then yes, you can - it's called Time Shift on many models. I've got a cheapo 'Lite-on' brand one & it works very well. I don't think you'll find straight DVD recorders have the option, but I may be wrong.

You'll need the more expensive DVD RAM models (Panasonic brands) if you want a DVD Recorder with Time Shift function. That is, just a DVD disc.

The cheaper DVD recorders don't offer this functionality and certainly not the DVD+ and DVD- variations - If you want time shift, spend more money and get either a Hard disk drive (HDD) model alone or a combi HDD/DVD which time shifts to the hard disk whilst you can record on the DVD itself.
