If you have one of their savings accounts you don't have to pay in £1500. You don't have to keep much in it, so there's nothing to stop you saving elsewhere. The now closed regular saver was very good. Unfortunately my last payment into it was last month - but when I phoned to ask about a new equivalent and bemoaned that it would have a lower interest rate, it was suggested that the new rate might end up higher depending on what other banks are doing. Bearing in mind the new Nationwide account and Santander 123, we can but hope.
    . . .I did not speak out

    Then they came for me
And there was no one left
    To speak out for me..
