iPod not charging?

Hi,

I have a 32GB iPod which recently failed to charge. I tried several chargers from iPhones but none seemed to work. The Apple store managed to kick start the iPod into charging using a "Booster", as they called it.

Anyway as the product was out of warranty I would have had to pay a small fortune to get this repaired. On thinking about the "Booster" I tried an iPad charger the next time the iPod was drained and failed to charge. It appears that the iPad charger is 10 watts whilst those for iPhones are 5 watts. Hey presto, it worked!

I have read on other forums where iPods fail to charge so this is for you guys to try. Of course you will need to find an iPad charger or borrow one.

Word of caution though, once you have it kick started you should revert back to the dedicated charger for the iPod.

Hope this is useful to some.
