Trying to download it from the Java site and it says the file is corrupt.
I only need it on one site I use that I trust as it is disabled in my other browsers.0 -
Re-download it from either of these:
http://www.java.com/getjava/
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre7-downloads-1880261.html
(Windows x86 Offline - 30.06MB jre-7u17-windows-i586.exe)0 -
Is that from here?
http://java.com/en/download/installed.jsp
I got this
Server Error
This server has encountered an internal error which prevents it from fulfilling your request. The most likely cause is a misconfiguration. Please ask the administrator to look for messages in the server's error log.

The first link is the one I got the error on. Tried it again from your link and got the same error as santer.
Tried the second link and got the same error as the first time, that the file is corrupt.0 -
That's the JDK. Most will want the JRE.0 -
Malwarebytes were advising people to remove Java from their PCs for the time being.

I got a pop up from Avast yesterday saying that it was out of date and offering the update. It updated no problem from there.
I only have Java enabled on Firefox as it blocks access until you specifically allow it and I only allow it for one site I visit.
I agree that if you don't need it then it should be uninstalled as it has been insecure for months.0
