in Credit cards
Last week I signed up and paid £1000 for a course. A home study kit (worth £500!) was "thrown in". I've changed my mind about the course and asked for a refund, but the small print says all goods must be returned unopened and in good condition, or their value deducted from the refund. The home kit is in perfect, unread condition but opened.
Is the home study kit part of the £1000 course fee, since it was a "freebie"? Did I purchase the kit or the course?
Am I entitled to a £1000 refund or can they legally rip me off the £500? Does my credit card, section 75 protection, protect me?

On section 75 would not apply....as for the kit then I suppose they could charge you for the fact that it is opened and you did not comply as per their T&C....0

Did your order online or by phone? It may be covered under the distant selling act.
I believe you have to cancel it within 7 days and you have the right to inspect the goods.
