Cash ISA Thought:
I got my 2012/13 ISA,waiting to mature on April 5th.
I thought:I live my ISA where it is.Wait anytime after 6th April, lot of offers comes up and beat the " best" 2.50% that Santander is offering at the mom, then transfer to best offer.
Any suggestion appreciated.

Sorry, I shouldn't do this, but you really made me laugh there. If there are lots of [better] offers after April 6, I shall eat my words.
But I agree, waiting for what's on offer on April 8 (accounting for the weekend) is perhaps worth a gamble0 -
The fact that only Santander ,so far, offering this deal 2.50%,based on £2500 min,
Also thinking to take this offer, then transfer accordingly. What you think?

If Santander are going to give a better deal I'm sure they would have by now. This time last year it was 3.3%
Why would they or any other bank wait until after the start of the tax year? ??
I can't believe Santander 2 year fix is ONLY 2.8%Save in 2013: #166: 9,122.51/[STRIKE]5,000[/STRIKE] 10,000Interest earned in 2014: £257.61 20/04/140 -

Why is there such a mad rush to transfer by 6th April, can't it be done at any time after? Or, is it because any half decent deals get pulled once we are in the new tax year? Just wondered.
BTW I am still looking for a great cash ISA deal, but it is now so late I can't see that any new ones will appear:(Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -

My guess is that best deal are up for the grab. You can still open 2013/14 Santander ISA ,with ZERO balance, the opt for transfer in when the time is due.
Or if you starting new one, then apply on line or join the Q ,Saturday April 6th.I guess you can still apply within tax year (2013/14)?

Just a word of warning, I was told by an adviser when opening my Direct ISA that I had to fund it within 14 days of opening.
I asked for clarification and they said £2500 needs to be in the account within 14 days whether it be money paid in 13/14 or transferred in from last years 12/13 and before.
Given my current ISA matures on the 31st of May I stand to lose a bout £10 I think if I transfer now, not exactly terrible though.
Has anyone else confirmed this? I opened the account to get the rate but I'll call back a few times to make 100% sure before I make the transfer. I guess I'll also see if the rate sticks around and then close/reopen if necc.0
